Greetings! It’s my honor to serve as Pastor at Spirit of Peace. As Pastor, I get to witness and support all of the ways that this church knits together community. I get to accompany, tell and hear stories, teach and be taught, and wrestle with making meaning out of life circumstances. I get to see people fully and help individuals and groups listen for where God is calling them.
I’m a Pastor because I love how church spaces can embrace people while also challenging them to love more fully. I’m proud that Spirit of Peace is an open and affirming community – and that we’re always seeking to expand how we live into that declaration.
I am ordained in the United Church of Christ (UCC). My winding path took me from my childhood home in Brooklyn Park, MN, to earn my B.A. from Carleton College in 1993. I worked as a freelance photographer and videographer for 16 years before feeling the call to ministry, leading to an MDiv degree from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities in 2024. Spirit of Peace is my first church call. I also serve on the Board of Directors of the MN Conference of the UCC as well as their Committee to Dismantle White Supremacy.
When I’m not at church I’m usually with my wife, Johanna, and my son, Heiko. We love being outside – camping, hiking, biking, and skiing. I love coffee (as long as it’s light roast East African : )), microbrews, and street food of all kinds.
My normal work week is Tuesday through Saturday, my pronouns he|him. Click here to schedule a meeting with me.
